X-Men #17 Review
Writer: Jonathan Hickman

Publisher: Marvel Comics
The Shi'ar are in need of the X-Men to assist in a situation that would have dire consequences on the Empire.
Wow, now that was an issue! There is so much about this issue that I loved. The first is seeing Cyclops and Jean in their '80s X-Factor outfits. Since they are going to be setting up a team could this be what they've decided to wear for the team? Jean has already shown us that she is into reviving older costumes, so it's definitely a possibility.
I also really love that this book had a very '90s feel to it. I especially found this in the art which felt like it had a heavy influence of Jim Lee to it. This issue was a lot of action, and mixed with the '90s style art, it was such a fun read. I certainly want more of this!
This was another one and done issue, but it was packed with so much action and story it didn't feel rushed at all. There were so many moments that not only made Cyclops and Jean shine, but also made Storm shine like we haven't seen in a while. It was definitely great to see them be heroes again.
Overall this was an exciting throwback to '90s X-Men, and it was a delight on every page. If this is the formula going forward I'm all in!
