Wolverine #2 Review
Writer: Benjamin Percy
Artist: Adam Kubert
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Who is “the Pale Girl” and whats her involvement in the Flower Cartels trafficking of the drug called “pollen?” Wolverine sets out to answer these questions, but things don’t go as planned.
This issue was such a fun read. There was a lot going on, and the story jumps around but it’s great to see Wolverine out investigating again. This story has some pretty dark moments which I also really enjoyed. I almost get “Enemy of the State” vibes from this story which is awesome. I’m really interested to see where this goes. We are definitely getting a noir series and I am all for it. There seems to be some tension building between Cyclops and Wolverine, and I’m wondering when we will start to see that bleed into the other series. Up until now they have been pretty buddy buddy but now, we are seeing a bit of the old Cyclops and Wolverine relationship come back.
The only thing that was missing for me was the second story. In the last issue we got a second story with Omega Red but the continuation of that is nowhere to be found. I was kind of disappointed as I really enjoyed that story and was looking forward to more. Hopefully we get the rest soon as I love me some Omega Red!
The art in this issue is what really shines. Every page blew me away with just how dynamic it was. It’s so great to have Adam Kubert back on the x-books. This is some of the best art we have had in a long time.
Overall this is a great follow-up to that explosive first issue. This series is definitely set to be one of the better new x-series. Even if you’re not a huge Wolverine fan I still highly recommend picking this one up.
