Arrow Season 5 Episode 6 Review
**Spoilers**
Prometheus joined Arrow this week bringing up past motives, new character arcs, and a deep connection to Oliver Queen. All of this combined created a compelling episodes but not without some weak points.
After setting up Prometheus in the beginning of the season, the main plot this episode revolved around the introduction of this new character who we have no idea about. While his motivation is still unclear, his actions this episode pose a serious threat to Oliver and the recruits. The most compelling nature of his character has to be the season 1 connection. With the direct link back to the List, we have no idea what he will bring up next. Speaking of the List, its reappearance provided the second dose of drama behind the debate over killing which Oliver once again struggled with. Diggle's speech was really effective and was what we should expect out of someone who is the moral center of the show. Going back to the second dose of drama, Evelyn had her first disagreement with Oliver over his previous killings and how he did not tell her the threat of Prometheus until he started killing more people. As much as I am enjoying some of the other recruits, Evelyn has been the one who feels like the most odd one out especially since she has the least characterization. And if this is the answer the producers have for fleshing her character out, I'm not satisfied. It felt very unimportant and the fact the resolution came so quickly, The only benefit to this drama is that it revealed something that was annoying about Arrow before. Arrow always either had a no-killing rule or a killing-rule. In season 3 and 4, they didn't draw those borders and the fight sequences suffered for them. Now with Ollie being a bit more brutal, it is nice to reinforce a new rule of killing only as a last resort.
The big reveal at the end of the episode was that Prometheus is Lance. While it was obvious that this is a red herring, it brings up the question as to why the real Prometheus would use Lance and plant all of the evidence on him. Lance's alcoholism is a recurring theme for this season and while Thea wasn't able to get to him, I bet the reappearance of Laurel Lance in the next couple of episodes will shake things up for all of the cast. In the flashbacks, Konstantine Kovar played by Dolph Lundgren who has enough charisma in his one short scene to rival some of this show's greatest villains. Hopefully the producers do something unique with him.
The action this week was also solid though it focused more on stylistic over practicality. The scene in which people were causing mass panic felt like the producers taking a liberal stance on gun ownership but it lacked the practicality. It looked great but some of the logistics weren't translated properly. Same thing for the ending fight scene that stylistically looked very Batman Begins but some of the realistic features of Arrow were lost in execution.
**Overall Episode Grade: 8.7/10**
