This issue brings forth actual action, as we see the very foundation of many of the relationships and circumstances established up to this point taking drastic changes; many for the worst.
Chenglei finds some sort of closure as well as a new lease on life, Eligia and Luca’s schemes finally step into gear, and the Arctic scientists reveal something MASSIVE. Oh, and the assault on the Somalian Tree? Turns out I was a little bit wrong about that, my bad…
Marking what can be seen as (or at least close as hell to) the climax of the series up to this point, this issue finally gives us a little more foundation to believe that the Trees may have some sort of impact on all of these ongoings; even if these correlations are more inadvertent than direct causations. I can finally say with earnest that I’m excited to see how things play out over the course of the next several issues, and that nothing can be the same after this.
