Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #18

The story finally progresses, and a new arc looks to make use of the teases that Robert Venditti has been dropping recently. I just don't understand why the story had to move so late in the game. This is the 18th issue of the series, but this should've been the 7th or 8th issue.

Venditti can craft a fun, nice issue with good character work and solid world-building. He also knows how to respect the history of these characters, and he can write them well. It's so good to see Kyle as an actual member of the Corps here. Venditti has a problem tying together a cohesive story, which is a major problem. This is the fourth arc of the title, and not much has happened in the series so far. Venditti doesn't seem to know what to do with Hal and Kyle.

The art by V. Ken Marion was very solid. While not as visually appealing as Rafa Sandoval's or Ethan Van Sciver's art, it got the job done.

While the ending was very interesting, the slow progression of the series has really gotten to me. Everything that happened in the first half of this issue, all of the conflict between the Green and Yellow Lanterns, should have been resolved by now.
