DC Rebirth now is really pumping out some of their best content, and that is with the majority of their books. However the one book that most people unanimously disliked was Justice League. For me personally it felt like we had arc, upon arc of just confusing stories, where for a lot of it you barely saw the villain. It wasn’t confusing in a good way, like Deathstroke, but confusing in a frustrating way, and to be honest if it was any other book than Justice League, I probably would have dropped it by now.

However with this arc it has well and truly been really great. The huge scope of this arc definitely feels like an event, which is really great to see. There is a huge threat that literally spans over time. The previous issue was basically informing both the characters and the reader of what is really going on, whilst this issue is focusing on what should be done to resolve the issue. One complaint I do have is that Superman doesn’t seem much like a team player in this story and whilst everyone is focusing on the threat, he is only caring about his family which does seem out of character for him.

We also get the villain’s motivation. Usually with this it can sometimes be silly or stupid or just really well thought out. This villain is basically making the case that the earth’s solar system currently attracts way too much unwanted attention and gets attacked so much in a way that affects the universe around it. Therefore the timeless want to move it to the end of time, however he doesn’t care all that much if the people on earth live or die, he just wants them gone.

Justice League #17 is a really great book, that is setting up an epic storyline, that so far is Hitch’s best storyline yet. Hopefully the arcs following it will also be as great as this and of this high caliber. If it does you could be looking at a pretty good run on Justice League.
