We have a brand new creative team taking over Trinity. The last story arc was pretty amazing and left some pretty big shoes to fill.
This issue we get introduced to the new Villains of the series. Though they don't seem all that excited to be working with each other. Some don't even see themselves as a villain anymore and even state "don't mistake ambition or evil."
Overall I did enjoy this issue for the most part. It was written well and was interesting seeing these three characters being brought together. The entire issue revolved around these three and we never got to see any of our Trinity. There was a lot of exposition, but that helped to really drive the intentions and hesitations these three characters had.
There were some moments where I felt Circe knew more than what she was telling. This made me second guess the story in certain moments when Circe is taken off guard and then finally comes up with solutions to battle the creature they are forced to take on. I felt like if she knew so much then why did it take her so long to figure out a solution? There was just a bit of a disconnect there for me.
I really enjoyed the art is this issue. It's very different and has more of a darker edgy tone to it. That possibly could be because the entire issue revolves around these three not so heroic characters. There were moments though especially in the action sequences that I found the art lacking some of the detail set out in many of the other pages and sequences in the issue.
This was an interesting start to a new arc in this series. If you haven't been following Trinity, then this is definitely a great jumping on point.
