Flash #14
Writer: Joshua Williamson
Artist: Carmine Di Giandomenico
Colourist: Ivan Plascencia
The Rogues have always been one of my favorite villains or should I say villain groups. I love the relationship they have with the Flash. They are bad guys, but they have morals, which made them so different to typical villains.
This issue kicks off with Flash taking down the new rogues, which was funny because it took time for the Rogues to go for more than just a joke. Unfortunately, the new recruits just do seem like a joke, but they may get to be integrated with the original squad.
Now this issue does something interesting, as Williamson basically calls out the writers of the New 52, as they basically made the Rogues more allies, than enemies. This was a point that was so true bur it wasn’t necessarily bad seeing them work together. The art by Carmine Di Giandomenico is so good and I did miss it from before.
This issue deals with Flash trying to deal with trying to find the Rogues and this gives us the opportunity to learn a bit about Captain Cold, which I’m always up for. This issue was really more of a set up for what is happening next, but one thing we do know is the Rogues do seem to mean business this time.
