Supergirl Season 2 Episode 6 Review
Another solid episode this week for Supergirl! I am truly surprised by how consistent Supergirl is this season in comparison to season 1. Though with that consistency came some falters which the show isn't looking to change. (Sorry for the short review. There really isn't much to talk about this week.)

One of the biggest storylines of this episode revolved around Alex as she came out to Kara while still holding onto her crush for Maggie. Chyler Leigh brought everything to this episode and it was extremely obvious. Conveying the conflicted sides of someone who is still confused about who they are and also being turned down from the person who instigated all of this produces a raw reaction rarely captured on television. It was a compelling performance that is some of the best of the cw. The unsung hero in this arc was probably Kara though as their relationship was tested this week. Last season, we saw how Kara relied on Alex to keep her grounded and this episode was a great indication of how the writers understand that they need to reverse the roles sometimes.

The other major arc this episode saw the debut of Guardian. I am still really unsure about Jimmy and this whole arc. It seems really rushed and forced. But the one thing that I will say is that I can get behind Mehcad Brooks playing Guardian, not Jimmy playing Guardian.

Mon-El had a minor arc this episode as he explored a life without being a hero. Kara and Mon-El had a nice exchange discussing the responsibility when having powers but the discussion felt wrapped up too quickly. By the end of the episode, Mon-El was ready to be a hero which felt unjustified. I would have liked at least a scene of Kara explaining about why she became a hero and how she wants to make a difference.

The action and cgi was very good this week. Specifically, the Mon-El vs Kara training scene really highlighted how the fight choreography has improved this year. The CGI was also top-notch as Parasite was very threatening and is now on par with characters like Gorilla Grodd and King Shark.

**Overall Episode Grade: 8.5/10**
