We are at the penultimate issue of this Divinity mini series. Last issue MI-6 had sent Abram Adams to confront Myshka who is wants to rebuild the former Soviet Uninon back to its glory days. So I have to admit that I feel like after reading this issue that I'm missing something. I've re read it twice now, and I don't know it's like some of it is going over my head. It's well written, enjoyable and perhaps I'm just trying to read to much into it. I liked the ending, but I left the book confused as to what just happened. There's only one issue left to bring it all together, although I do think that it might leave on a cliff-hanger based on future Valiant solicitations. Abram and Myshka chase each other through time. Myshka makes stops to try to change the past, but can't because time doesn't work that way she is told. Part of her plan is to remove her main obstacle Abram Adams, so throughout the issue Abram looks like he's in various states of dying. It seems this issue shows a lot of the limitations with the Divinity powers, as they go through time but Myska can't seem to alter anything that's already happened. At least that's what I think happened. I really can't wait to see the last issue of this one. Matt Kindt has been hitting it out of the park for me lately.
I love the art. The nearly skeleton Abram Adams in various points of the book look great. The historic events that the two character encounter, including a certain wall coming down, look awesome. The only problems I have is that there are points where the tubes on the space suits they are wearing seem to appear and disappear, a very minor issue and sometimes Myshka doesn't look very feminine, again minor issue. There was single panel showing planets during the travels through time that I really loved. As I am sure I mentioned last month I love the colour tones in this series.
Divinity has been such an interesting book thus far. I am speaking of both mini series right now. It really has been a great science fiction story so far. I am confused but it's a good confused, I can't wait to read the last issue then go back and read the series as one whole story.
