Bloodshot Reborn #1

Spell it with me: T-E-N! That spells TEN or rather 10, which is what I'm giving this comic. Why? Because it was badass and because it hit all the right notes at all the right places, for me anyway. The issue starts off with an overview of who Bloodshot was/is and I definitely needed it because I went into this series blind. It was a good refresher course though and it led into the story rather well. You're introduced to who Bloodshot has become after losing his powers and then everything picks up steam until the last panel. Phenomenal pacing, I hope it continues.
Lemire is a pretty solid writer and I have very little to complain about. In fact, I would go so far as to say that this is one of the best independent comics I've read in a couple months. The dialogue was beyond natural and the plot is really captivating. I enjoyed everything about Ray Garrison's story and even the Bloodshot stuff I'd missed felt refreshing. It is because of this stellar writing that I anticipate the next issue immediately.
Suayan, Suayan, Suayan. I wish that if I said his name three times that he'd draw all my favorite comics because this guy is a literal magician with a pencil. Everything he draws is so spectacular. I was blow away from the first panel until the last and I need more! Bloodshot is very "Lobo"-esque and Suyan's drawing of him makes the character come alive in a way that I rarely see. Truly excellent art.
I can't wait for the next issue. This amazing! Pick it up! You won't be disappointed.
