Futures End #6

FINALLY. This (I hope) is the issue that is the turning point for the series. The entire issue was entertaining from start to finish. Not only was it entertaining, but it was interesting! All of the plot threads presented in this issue were intriguing, building their plot points while maintaining a sense of urgency and not dawdling around.
Surprises abound in this issue as well, as new characters are introduced in surprising situations. It’s hard to talk about this issue without spoiling the individual arcs so I will just say that I was pleasantly surprised on all accounts.
On top of the most consistent writing to date, we are treated to the visual feast of Patrick Zircher’s art. He and Lopresti are bringing top-notch work to this title and they are clearly the artists to beat. I’m particularly fond of his Superman and grizzled Tim Drake. I can’t forget to praise Ryan Sook either. His covers for this series are reason to pick up the issues alone. They are really quite great.
If you were considering dropping Futures End don’t do it just yet. With strong art and storylines beginning to ramp up, issue #6 shows the potential that this series has to offer.
F.D. White is just a man, a man trying to do his best...at reading comics. You can follow him @fdwhite19
