throwback cover(s) of the weekend
Back in the 90’s DC had an ongoing series by writer John Ostrander & illustrator Tom Mandrake, occasionally Mandrake would draw the covers, but for the most part every issue featured beautiful painted covers by talented illustrators such Glen Fabry, Charles Vess, Tim Truman & George Pratt just to name a few. The series pushed the boundaries of violence and horrific imageries for a DC title, it felt more like a Vertigo title, but part of the reason I looked forward to every month were those amazing covers.
