If you’ve been enjoying the recent run-on Detective Comics by Ram V and Rafael Albuquerque, today’s issue #1068 is going to be a real treat for you!
This special Two-Face issue is split in half artistically between Rafael Albuquerque and Ivan Reis to portray the struggles Harvey Dent goes through trying to stay alive with the help of his more evil side. Writer Ram V not only devised each page of this story to be a dark reflection of the page facing it, but also of itself from front to back.
Truly one of the most unique and creative issues of not only Tec, but any comic I’ve ever read.

This entire arc of Detective Comics has already set itself apart from any of the previous arcs thanks to the creative genius of writer Ram V but issue #1068 takes what you thought you already knew about his talents and throws that right out the window. For this issue, V takes readers deep inside the mind that is split between Harvey Dent and Two-Face and gives us a front row seat to the struggle within as the two must come to terms with their current predicament and do what’s best to keep themselves from being taken over AND saving Batman at the same time. The inner dialogue within the character is rich and deep and offers one of the most unique insights into Harvey / Two Face that we’ve ever seen in a comic. In reviews, I really try to pick things apart and find the positives as well as the negatives, but for once I can’t find anything negative in this issue to bring to the surface. I’m truly dumbfounded by how incredible this story is and it’s a testament to just how talented Ram V is.

For the art of this issue, the duties are split by regular Detective artist, Rafael Albuquerque as well as artist Iven Reis. The two artists split the work on this issue as one is tasked with brining Harvey Dent’s perspective to life and the other brings Two-Faces perspective `to life and the two blend beautifully to really bring the tones and emotions of the story to life visually for readers. There is a distinguishable difference between the two artists’ pages, but the both still blend together perfectly to make it feel like it’s all one and the same. Not only is the work in this issue some of the best I’ve seen in a long time, but it works beautifully to bring such a complex story to life visually for readers to fully take in this dynamic tale of a man torn between two personalities. The colors of the issue by Dave Stewart are truly the icing on the cake with brilliant highlights and dark tones and shadows that exemplify the emotions of the story.

Overall, Detective Comics #1068 is creative and unique story that really sells the emotions and struggles deep within Harvey Dent and Two Face in a way that’s never been explored before, brought to life by two dynamic artists that bring the emotional aspects of that conflict to life visually.
