X-Force #18 Review
Writer: Benjamin Percy
Artist: Garry Brown
Colorist: Guru-eFX
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Something is stalking the beaches of Krakoa.
‘X-Force’ has now moved into the horror genre and I actually really enjoyed it. This issue was so thrilling and exciting while also being a bit creepy. I do like that this book has been the main action book, but it is nice to finally have a new direction to shake it up a bit. It still fits completely into the tone that had been set out long ago for this book but adds just that little bit more.
Also they touch more on the Cyclops, Jean and Wolverine thruple. This is definitely going to raise some eyebrows but it cements that this trio is a thruple as many of us had been suspecting.
We also got a more in-depth look at Sage and Beast. While I found this interesting I still didn’t feel bad for what has happened to Beast. He has crossed the line far too many times over the years, but it was nice to see more of his working relationship with Sage and the agreements they made in order to keep Krakoa safe.
We get to see Kid Omega at the forefront again and I am such a fan. I love the growth that we are seeing with him. Also his relationship with Phoebe is great and they work so well together. I would love to see more issues where they team up together.
Overall this book was a creepy thrilling ride that I can’t wait to find out what happens. The mutants are definitely going to need to make some changes after this security breach.
