Hellions #2 Review
Writer: Zeb Wells
Artist: Stephen Segovia
Publisher: Marvel Comics
They’re Back! This series barely got started before the quarantine shut down production for a few months. Now things are rolling out again and the Hellions have been let loose.
This book packs some serious punches. I really enjoyed how they are utilizing these more dangerous mutants. Though that being said, I’d really like to see Havok recover and no longer be a liability. He makes a comment that he doesn’t feel he belongs on this team, and I somewhat agree after reading this issue. I’m sure there is a lot more they are going to do with him, but for now he does seem like the odd one out.
I also have been really enjoying Empath. He is just so evil and loves to play. Seeing how he toys with his teammates is absolutely hilarious. I don’t think he will ever be rehabilitated so will he last or will he end up where Sabretooth is? We will just have to wait and find out.
The art in this book is really well done. ‘House of X/Powers of X’ really set the look and tone of the X-books, and this book really follows that perfectly. It does though have subtle touches of its own style mixed in throughout.
Overall ‘Hellions’ is shaping up to be a really fun book and definitely is what the x-line up needs. If you like a darker book with a lot of humor then pick this one up.
