Age of X-Man: Apocalypse and the X-Tracts #2 Review

Well not every book in this event can be good and this one continues to prove that. This issue like the last is really not very good. From the cliche writing to the overly cartoonish art, it's just not working like the other series in this event are.
I know this series is trying to have a different look and style to the others but it is just not working. It's supposed to be this 1960s guru love and hippie tone and style, but its more like the book just tips it's tow in that theme than really going for it. I think if the creative team had really gone for it I would have enjoyed it more. But since its kind of half there it just seems uninteresting and cliche.
The writing in this issue is also so bad I had a hard time getting through it. Some of the dialogue is so cringe worthy and none of the characters seem like themselves. We even get to see a bit of the past and how Kitty Pryde joined the X-Tracts but since the dialogue and overall writing was so bad I found myself not caring in the least.
Overall this part of Age of X-Man continues to be a hard pass. It's over simplistic writing with cliche dialogue makes the book really hard to get into. While I feel that this series is important to the overall arcing story, I'm failing to see how impactful it will be to larger story of the event.
