And so concludes the Fracture arc, without a doubt the best arc the series has had. There was a lot of build-up to it, and Robert Venditti and Ethan Van Sciver pulled it off very well. This is also the best #25 DC has put out this summer. It uses page space effectively and I didn't feel as if there was any filler in the book, which is always something I look out for in my comics.

To talk a bit more about the pacing, it was well-handled. This was a quick read, and though there were some questions I had with some specific beats in the story, it was on the whole very satisfying. One of my issues concerns Soranik's heel turn, which by the end of the issue I understand a lot more given what takes place, but the way the last issue ended didn't convince me that Soranik would do the things she does, or say the things she says in this issue.

Ethan Van Sciver's art was also fantastic, which is remarkable given the higher page count. I was expecting a dip in quality but Van Sciver delivers on the scope and emotion of the issue perfectly.

Since this was a quick read, I can't really talk that much about the story found in this issue, but I will say that the last few pages left me quite happy and I'm excited to see where the story goes from here. I also think this series has found its stride by rotating artists for each arc. Van Sciver hasn't been seen on the book for a while, prior to this arc, and I hope Rafa Sandoval gets to draw his own epic story, which will be the next issue's introduction of the New Gods to this title.

If you're thinking about picking anything up this week, this is it. The art is extremely strong and Robert Venditti fills this over-sized issue with so much story. I had a few problems with some story beats that weren't properly resolved not set up, but this is the best issue of the series so far.
