X-Men Blue #3

Jean continues to lead her team under the tutelage of Magneto. There is still some of the the members who are unsure if they can trust Magneto or not. Even Jean herself waffles back and forth on if she made the right decision or not.
This issue we see the team battling sentinels, trying to protect a new mutant. The team is sidelined though by that the sentinels weren't there to destroy the new mutant, they where there to help her. Sentinels have always been built to destroy the mutant plague, but this turn of events takes everyone off guard. Can the O5 team trust this new directive, or is there more to these new sentinels?
Cullen Bunn continues to deliver such an incredibly fun and engaging story that skyrockets X-Men Blue to being the best book in the new ResurreXion lineup. This issue had me fully into the story, no I didn't believe the sentinels but I couldn't stop reading to find out the truth about what was going on. I am loving the O5 team and the dynamic of their relationships. Jean's learning to lead and making some mistakes along the way, seeing Cyclops supporting her completely but also teasing her is a lot of fun. I have always been a huge fan of Cyclops as a character and this younger Cyclops like Jean is very different from his predecessor. I love how human he is becoming and he's not as stiff as older Cyclops was. We even get to see him make a joke at Jean's expense in this issue and it was absolutely hilarious.
The artwork in this issue also is bright, colorful and so much fun which suits the tone of the book perfectly. About three quarters of the way though Ray-Anthony Height takes over and we get his art until the end of the issue. It has a little bit of a different style but still fits perfectly into what Cullen Bunn and Jorge Molina have crafted.
X-Men Blue continues to dominate and be an outstanding book proving that the X-Men are definitely back. We haven't had much of a serial and the series being more of a villain of the week, but its proving to be a successful formula. Hopefully soon we will see the series become more of a serial and bring on some greater challenges for the O5 team. This is still a must read series that I can't recommend enough. Go pick it up, you wont be disappointed.
