I will try and be as unbiased as possible, but let this be known. Of all the Spidermen and woman, Spidey 2099 has always been my absolute favorite!
As we remember, in events that transpired in the Superior Spidey series. Miguel O’Hara was stuck in our time line. He begins a tight relationship with the beginnings of Alchemex. In hopes of making sure things get steered in….. a certain path.
So 2099 sends this TOTEM terminator like thing after him, in cliche fashion; and the assassin, in cliche fashion banters about tuxedos with Spidey. Then Spidey kills him, in an un hero sort of way. It was pretty unexpected. I was shocked really. This TOTEM is sort of…. Bishop like. Dude fixes the issues time travelers create.
Also, we really don't see much of Miguel. It’s all Spidey. The beginning of the book was a crazy crash course into Spidey’s origin. And thats cool and all, but a first issue has a lot of responsibilities. I don’t feel that it set the foundation that it needed. And it really pains me to admit that. This issue was forced and rushed, that’s what it felt like at least. It tried, but terribly missed the mark.
