Superman #18
Writer: Peter J. Tomasi, Patrick Gleason
Artist: Patrick Gleason
Colorist: John Kalisz
Publisher: DC Comics
Who is Clark Kent? That has been the question on everyones lips since the other Clark appeared. Now he has discovered Lois has been lying to him and Jon is not her cousins son but her own. All his memories have now been flooding back and he is not happy.
This issue starts off in a mysterious place with Robin yelling that someone got out and some cryptic writing about Superman on the walls and floor. The we get to see the Smith celebrating their anniversary with Jon. Everything seems to be as normal as could be until the other Clark shows up at their farm.
This issue was so much fun and had me going "huh!?" a lot. The story of who the other Clark is has started to unfold and it looks like things are going to get crazy! I love that Patrick Gleason is back on the art. He has such a unique style that is what really got me into reading this series at Rebirth. His pages are absolutely gorgeous and he really has a talent for laying out panels in a very dynamic and engaging way.
This issue really felt like an episode of Lost. The story really pulled me in and had so many "Huh" moments and didn't answer any of my questions before there were many more I was asking. It even had me flipping back through previous issues to see if there was anything subtle that I missed thats now showing up in the story.
This issue proves why Superman is one of the best series being released from DC. This story will be a crossover with Action Comics so get ready, this is going to be a crazy ride!
