Infamous Iron Man #2
Writer: Brian Michael Bendis
Artist: Alex Maleev
Colorist: Matt Hollingsworth
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Is it true Dr Doom is reformed?! It looks like it he has but he's not completely changed. His methods are a bit extreme and not everyone believes that he truly has reformed.
This issue Ben Grimm continues to look for Doom for reasons that aren't completely clear. All we know is that Ben doesn't fully believe that Doom has reformed but his other motives, because you know he has more are still not known. Doom continues on his path for good, but we see his interactions with a villain, and we get to see more of his heavy hand of the law.
I really enjoyed this issue a lot. I am on board with the reformed Doom and seeing his bumbling when it comes to upholding the law. His comment "My apologies, making sure no harm will come to others is relatively new to me" really made me laugh and thats so apparent in this series. He has a very heavy hand and I can see some conflict with many of the other heroes that wont agree with his methods.
In true Bendis style, we don't get a lot of answers in this issue. Bendis likes to stretch things out and keep us guessing. Sometimes that can be very frustrating but in this instance I'm all for it. There's so many questions surrounding why Doom has reformed and chosen the mantle of Iron Man. Keeping the series in a shroud of mystery and only giving us little bits of information really teases us and keeps us on the edge of our seats.
Alex Maleev once again knocks it out of the park. His art is always on point and I love the look and feel he has given this series. it has this dark ominous tone to it which I feel fits the reformed villain perfectly.
Some people see Bendis name on a book and write it off immediately because his past is littered with some great books but also many terrible ones. This series is one of the great ones. I was hesitant at first but I'm really enjoying it and highly recommend picking it up. Doom is such a great character and so far Bendis is delivering a solid story. Go pick this one up!
