Marauders #13
Writer: Vita Ayala
Artist: Matteo Lolli
Publisher: Marvel Comics
The next champion heads out in search for their sword, bringing Storm head to head with Wakanda.
Now that was a chapter! This was so exciting and jam packed with action, political intrigue, and a bit of romance. This chapter goes to show we need more Storm lead books. She is such a fantastic character and has been wildly underused for years.
I really enjoyed this chapter a lot. You really got to feel the struggle Storm is going through. She doesn't want to hurt the people of Wakanda, or the royal family, but her people are in need as well. There were so many levels to this story and there will be ramifications to it as well.
This was an oversized chapter again showing that the previous didn't need to be separated into two separate chapters. I'm finding these oversized chapters are really engaging. Like this one it had its slower moments, but the overall excitement and how well the chapter was crafted supersede any slow moments.
Overall this chapter read like a love letter to Storm. Proving we need more of her in the X-books. This chapter is packed full of so many story elements and is so far one of the best chapters in the event.
