X-Force #11 Review
Writer: Benjamin Percy
Artist: Bazaldua
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Russian super-soldiers, Krakoan medicine stolen, it’s been a tough time for X-Force. Now back on Krakoa in the healing grounds things start to get really interesting.
‘X-Force’ is back with a bang! I really enjoyed this issue a lot. I got some serious ‘Alien’ vibes from it and it actually works really well. This new threat really seems like they are going to give the mutants a run for their money. I really like the horror elements woven into this series. It brings an interesting dynamic to this dark, edgy book.
Xavier seems to be a liability for the mutants. We see yet again that he is the target yet, we find out in this issue that the new assailants have another target as well. This story also leads into the next crossover event ‘X of Swords’ and gives us just a tiny glimpse of what we will expect in the event. Moments that seemed insignificant in previous issues are now coming to the forefront. This could pose as problematic for the mutants.
Another element that I really enjoyed was getting more of Colossus’s dilemma with what he has gone through and his place not only with X-Force but with the mutants in general. It really shows that even though the mutants have conquered death, there are still lasting effects that aren’t as easily healed.
Overall ‘X-Force’ continues to be a fantastic rollercoaster of a story. This issue is fast paced and really exiting, taking us right into the upcoming ‘X of Swords’ event. If you haven’t picked it up yet I highly recommend you do.
