Cable #2 Review
Writer: Gerry Duggan
Artist: Phil Noto
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Well that went downhill quickly. The first issue was so much fun and had a lot of promise, but that was all lost with this issue. While this one wasn’t all bad, it really struggled to hold my attention
I really like the idea that Cable is dating all five of the Stepford Cuckoos. That part really works and is really funny. The rest of this story just isn’t working for me. There are several comedic moments that just seem to miss. It’s like this book is trying just a little too hard to match what ‘Marauders’ has brought instead of just being its own book.
‘Cable’ is blessed though with Phil Noto’s amazing art. While the book may be lackluster the art is so good! At this point Noto’s art may be the only thing that really redeems this book.
Overall I wasn’t impressed with this book. I am hoping it can find its footing soon. It had such promise at the beginning, but with issue two I’m already thinking about dropping the series.
