Marauders #10 Review
Writer: Gerry Duggan
Artist: Stefano Caselli
Publisher: Marvel Comics
And we’re back! Marauders hits with an explosive new issue that is sure to send shock waves through the Marvel Universe.
This issue we see the Marauders engage against the Russian ship that is manufacturing Forge’s power dampening weapons. They also plan to avenge the death of Captain Kate Pryde.
This was the perfect issue after a long break of no comics. I really enjoyed seeing the team come together and take down this freighter. We get to see some really amazing moments with several members of the Marauders. One scene with Emma Frost was absolute incredible. While it wasn’t a flashy scene, it really highlighted Emma Frost and her overt sexuality. It was really great to see the creative team tap into this and really play it up. This scene really showed quintessential Emma and I’m living for it!
I also liked how this book highlighted the amount of force the Marauders are willing to dish out. The team really straddled the line that X-Force is so willing to step over. There is even a reference in this book to whether they should call in X-Force for this mission.
One of the more humorous parts of this issue is at the very beginning. We get to see how several mutants working together can accomplish amazing things. We get to see how with specific mutant skills they manage to create the world’s best whiskey aged-up in no time. So not only are the mutants cornering the pharmaceutical field, they are going with whiskey as well.
Overall this was such a great fun and exciting issue packed with so much action from beginning to end. I couldn’t think of a better book to read after a long break from comics. You should definitely pick this one up.
