Age of X-Man: Next Gen #3 Review
Writer: Ed Brisson
Artist: Marcus To
Publisher: Marvel Comics
This continues to be the best book in the event. Things are starting to get intense as other students are becoming wise to what is happening with Armor, Anole, and Glob.
We still don't really know what is going on but this issue gets really exciting. I loved how other students are suspecting something is up and secrets are no longer being able to be kept secret. I've always been a fan of Armor but this book is really highlighting how awesome she actually is. It's also great to see more from Glob and especially how central to this book he is.
The plot isn't driven forward very much in this issue, and the focus is mainly on the relationships between the students. Sometimes this could be detriment to a series but Ed Brisson shows off his impeccable writing skills and manages to keep us engaged the entire time.
The art in this book continues to be outstanding as well. Marcus To encaptures each facial expression flawlessly that you know exactly what the character is feeling. I noticed this especially when Anole realizes he can't hide from Armor and Glob.
While we still don't know much about the world, this books still manages to shine. It also manages to show that we need a good student book on our x-roster. Especially with the remaining Academy X students. Hopefully Marvel will see how much they are wanted and loved and bring them back in their own series.
Overall this is the highlight of Age of X-Man and a must read. This book continues to blow me away with how fun it is and ramifications are coming for certain mutant students and their actions, and I can't wait to see what they will be.
