Rogue & Gambit #5 Review
Writer: Kelly Thompson
Artist: Pere Perez
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Well the wild ride Rogue & Gambit have been on is finally coming to a close. This has been one of the best mini-series I have read in a long time. Kelly Thompson shows knowledge and love for these characters on a level that far surpasses many others. I would love to see her on an ongoing x-book one day.
While this last issue closes it's not an ending for Rogue & Gambit but a new beginning. Everything these two have gone though is only pushing them in a new direction. I'm so excited to see where these to go now in the main x-books. It's nice to also finally have Rogue home in the x-books where she belongs.
The one thing I really liked about this issue was it tied up all the lose ends really nicely. Not only did they defeat the big bad but they managed to learn and improve upon themselves. Sometimes a final issue can seem a little lacklustre in the build up through a series. But not this one. Thompson does an amazing job at still getting us excited to follow Rogue and Gambit into the main books.
What can I say if you are a fan of these two characters then you should read this mini-series. It's so well written and shows just how much Thompson loves these characters. Every issue had me excitedly waiting for the next to come out. It's an amazing read for any and all comic book fans.
