I went into this comic not knowing anything except for what I saw on the cover. I thought it was going to be a chore to read because of all the characters packed into the 22 pages. Boy was I wrong. This was actually a very nice read and I enjoyed seeing all of these respected franchises come together in this comic. This issue gave us small little vignettes into the world of each character and then showed us the "courier" character taking each of them a black sword for which it is implied they'd be fighting to save the universe with. It should be a pretty good ride.

Gail Simone provides us with some pretty good banter and some pretty solid writing throughout. Her weaving of plotlines and character's respected universes is really masterful stuff. The dialogue didn't weigh anything down and it was fun at parts because it flowed so well. I never read her run on Batgirl, but I'm assuming that the same chops that got her in the door at DC definitely got her on this project. The story as a whole may be a bit mysterious at the moment but I have no doubt that it will come together perfectly.

I was surprised to see Vampirella in this comic because I've known of the character for so long but didn't know that Dynamite owned her. Davila does a damn good job drawing her and the rest of the ladies in this comic. The great part too was that you couldn't tell if it was only one artist working on this comic or several, meaning that he changed styles for each of the worlds. I loved it and it added to the atmosphere that the writing created.

Pretty great all around. Highly recommend you pick it up!
