The Walking Dead #140
Written by: Robert Kirkman
Art by: Charlie Adlard, Stefano Guadiano, and Cliff Rathburn
Well we found out what that big surprise was near the end of the issue and OH MAN! It's gonna rock the socks off of the whole lot of them. This issue was spec-frickin-tacular, except for the beginning. Rick and Michonne have a little heart to heart and it felt a tad bit forced at times. Besides that, we got to see the Whisperers camp and Maggie held down the law on Gregory after the failed assassination attempt on her. Good issue with a lot of story packed in.
Like I said earlier, the dialogue between Michonne and Rick felt a bit forced at times, but it was still alright. Beyond that little scene, the rest of the comic was magnificent and the last page of the issue was a godsend. I know Kirkman is going to go full throttle in the next few issues and I'm super excited to see where it goes. Since Carl isn't really in any danger persay, I'm going to predict that his time with the Whisperers is going to come into play with the development from the ending of the issue.
Black and white never looked so good as it does in this comic. I always assume it would be a lot easier since you don't need to figure out colors for everything, but this art team has to trick the reader into inserting their own colors. They do a great job of it as always and the facial expressions are still some of the best I've seen in any comic the past 10 years. Always impressed.
Pick it up!!!
