Now we're talking! This issue was the bee's knees and just goes to show that you can combine any major franchises from the 60s with pretty awesome results. This issue had Shatner's Kirk coming face-to-face with Heston's Taylor. It was glorious thing as they talked about their respected world's and the struggles of the prime directive vs. helping the humans on Earth. But by the end of the issue, you kind of figured out that something was going to go down...and it does...the next issue should be pretty good too.

The Tiptons lay all the cards on the table for this one and I read the lines in the respected voices with amazing results. Especially Taylor's dialogue, but it may have had to do with Heston's distinct voice, regardless it was good. The only gripe I had with this issue was the absence of some of the story element from the last issue. We saw the Klingons and with their inclusion in the last panel of the last issue I thought that perhaps they'd have a more "aggressive" role in this issue, but maybe next issue they'll have a bigger role. Still, it was beautifully written.

Stott does a great job again with the faces and everything else. I read other reviews of the new Star Wars comic that were bashing that artist for "tracing" the faces from the movies. If Stott is doing that in this issue, I didn't notice it at all. She got to draw some of the apes jumping and running around this issue too, which she did pretty well. There's a hilarious panel when the gorilla guards show up near the beginning of the issue, it's just an iconic looking pose that is done that got a giggle out of me. It's authentic and you can't go wrong with that.

Another awesome issue and a must have if you're a fan of either franchise. Pick it up!
