Future Quest Presents continues to be one of the most fun comics on the shelf month in and month out and makes proper use of the fact that it is an anthology series. This month we get a new story from Williams and Lopresti concentrating on the Herculoids, the planet Amzot and a visit from Animan!
Williams’s story is nothing too complicated, a plus for short issue or two arcs, that sees the younger member of the Herculoids, Dorno, experiencing the growing pains of being the only child amongst this rag tag group. However, being a human on a foreign planet, these pains are much more complicated in his eyes as he clearly wants to be a contributing member of the group, but can’t seem to get out of his own way while doing so.
Enter Animan: a being not of Amzot who seems to have the ability to grant any wish that Dorno may have. However, it’s established pretty quickly that he does not seem to have Dorno’s best interest at heart.
All in all, this issue was a lot of fun to read. I think the best part is Aaron Lopresti’s art. I’ve always been a big fan of his over the years and I’m always glad to see his work. I can’t say a bad thing about his art.
