ROM Micronauts #3 Review

As far as middle issues go, ROM Micronauts #3 was very enjoyable as Gage and Villanelli leaned into the fight the heroes have to undertake against the forces of the Dire Wraiths and Baron Karza.

The issue starts off right as Acroyear, one of the Micronauts, gets infected by the wraiths and begins to attack his compatriots. Taking the fight directly to ROM himself, Wraith-Acroyear takes advantage of the fact that everyone else are reluctant to fight their friend.

The remainder of the issue sees our heroes decide to take the attack directly to the Wraiths and the Baron’s base in the microverse to try and destabilize their plans before they come to fruition.

The art in this issue continues to be a highlight as well. As the series progresses, it seems like Villanelli and Alexakis are really starting to get a true feel for the characters. The art is getting crisper, the inks are getting flowing a lot better, and the colors are adding a perfect vibrancy to the whole.

In all, seeing as how this is the midway point of the mini-series, we are getting some good action coupled with good art. Now I am anxiously awaiting what Gage has in store for the next two issues, as one thing this didn’t really have, was enough plot advancement, and I hope that changes next issue.
