It is so nice to have She Could Fly’s weirdness back from its break because now I am able to question my sanity every month again. If an issue of She Could Fly could ever make me question reality, it is this second issue of the new arc, The Lost Pilot.

From start to finish, this issue is full of nonstop bizarre storytelling. And that is the beauty of Christopher Cantwell’s writing: the strangeness of the issue is not just for the sake of being weird. There is so much going on in this issue and so much of it is odd but it is somehow always continuing to tell the very intricate story that was established in the series’ first arc. That story was amazingly interesting and Cantwell is doing it justice by keeping it moving with force.

This second issue of The Lost Pilot is almost like a “greatest hits” issue for fans of She Could Fly. There are so many strange hallucinations that I’ve come to love and expect from Cantwell and artist Martin Morazzo. There is also plenty of gore, both real and fake, that I have come to love and expect. Plus, there is quite a bit of drama and emotion that I have come to love and expect from this story. She Could Fly: The Lost Pilot #2 is everything I want from the series and this team has handed it right to me.

As bizarre and disturbing as this series can get, it would not be able to achieve such horror without Martin Morazzo’s artwork. He is able to create some of the most amazing and unsettling visuals of any comic book artist that I can think of. If you really want to experience this ability of his, She Could Fly: The Lost Pilot #2 is a fantastic display of that. This issue shows off how well he can illustrate emotion and panic, while also presenting his talent in illustrating terrifying and unusual moments.

If you’ve enjoyed She Could Fly this far, you’ll love this new issue as it features everything the series has become known and loved for. There is so much to digest in this second issue of She Could Fly: The Lost Pilot #2 and it provides a long exciting ride to give you time to do that consuming.
