This is sadly the last issue of the weekly releases of the series and we will now commence to regular monthly releases. But it isn’t too sad because this fourth issue is another great one. Ian Flynn and returning artist Evan Stanley write and illustrate a very fun and exciting fourth issue.

Ian Flynn is really pushing this story forward without rushing it and his storytelling is making each issue very exciting. This issue introduces us to the amazing Tangles the Lemur who I can tell is going to be a fun character. We also see Blaze the Cat again, which is always a treat. In this issue, Sonic, Tangles, and Blaze work together to defeat the robots attacking Tangle’s village. There is a lot of action in this issue and now we are really close to finding out who is really controlling all of these robots.

Evan Stanley illustrates Sonic in a fun and kind of old school style that I enjoy. Her artwork in this issue is incredible and full of detail. She makes Sonic look awesome and funny, she makes Tangles look badass, and she makes Blaze look fierce. Matt Herms does colors really well and in this issue his colors on Stanley’s artwork of things like the explosions are beautiful.

We wrap up an entire month of Sonic the Hedgehog with an issue full of action and humor. This rebooted series is doing a great job at establishing the story of Sonic and his world while also appealing to older fans by referencing the past. This issue does that well and I think all readers will enjoy it.
