Everyone should be buying and reading Ice Cream Man. This first issue of the series is exactly what a first issue of a new series should be. There are so many layers to this comic book and they’re all interesting and creepy. I was actually upset when I got to the last page because I wanted more so badly.

Ice Cream Man is kind of about a lot of things. We have the Ice Cream Man, who we find is a bit more than that as the issue goes on. Then we have Byron and his extremely deadly spider living in an disturbing household. And lastly, we have 5V, a detective who seems to be having some sort of issues with her mental health. I don’t want to give too much away, but all three of these people are written into pretty deranged storylines that all connect.

To make the bizarre storylines even better, Martin Morazzo’s art seals the deal. His artwork is unsettling in the exact way it needs to be for this comic book. I think that W. Maxwell Prince and Martin Morazzo couldn’t be a better team for this series.

I didn’t know about this series until last week, and I decided to read it on a whim. I am convinced it was one of the best comic book decisions I have made. This issue is incredibly entertaining and is the perfect start to what is sure to be a fantastic series as it continues. I am dying for more already and I’m sure you will be too.
