Batman #10
Exhausted and desperately in need of a shave, but not beaten, Batman takes the fight to the Court of Owls. As the pieces of this complex puzzles are finally coming together, Batman is in for the shock of his life! Plus : The tragic family story of the Waynes & the Pennyworths and their connection to the Court of Owls in part 2 of The Fall Of The House of Wayne.
The Pros
I think Keanu Reeves from The Matrix said it best when he said “Whoa.” Batman takes care of business with the final members of the Court of Owls and Scott Snyder delivers an ending that will shock & amaze you. The architect of this long running story arc is revealed and will change Batman’s life forever, assuming it’s not a lie or an elaborate hoax. I better stop here for fear of spoiling it for everybody, as I’ve already said too much. You’ll just have to trust me Bat-Fans. The back up story is also pretty good and actually serves a purpose because it ties in to the events I’ve just mentioned. Greg Capullo keeps dishing out his amazing illustrations and produces his most haunting cover yet.
The Cons
Nothing negative to add here.
The Outcome
What else is there to say? This is the single best Batman moment of 2012 and nothing could top it, unless of course next issue’s conclusion does exactly that (oh and a little summer movie called The Dark Knight Rises too). The Fall of the House of Wayne is written by Scott Snyder & James Tynion IV. Illustrated by Rafael Albuquerque (American Vampire). From DC Comics.
