Uncanny X-Force : The Apocalypse Solution (TPB)

by lucstclair on November 27, 2011

Introducing the newly reformed X-Force, consisting of Wolverine, Archangel, Psylocke, Deadpool and Fantomex. Together they must prevent the return of Apocalypse, reborn as… a child? Can they make the right decision? Kill this child before he becomes too powerful? And blah blah blah… You know what? I’ve totally lost interest in the X titles. I was mostly bored with this story and I never really cared for Archangel, Psylocke and Deadpool. And Fantomex was pretty lame. The only thing that kept me reading was watching Wolverine in berserker mode slicing up the baddies like provolone cheese. But even that wasn’t enough to save this trade from getting a poor review. Written by Rick Remender and illustrated by Jerome Opena. Not my bag at all (sorry Stephen).

I couldn't disagree with you more on this one! For me Uncanny X-Force is the best series out right now and this was a great introduction to the members of the team and what their mission statement is. This is one series that gets better and better each issue. The current story arc, The Dark Angel Saga, is I would have to say the best arc of the 2011! Do yourselves a big favour a check out this series, it won't disappoint.

I started reading the second X-Force trade with Deathlok and stopped half way. It's just not for me, if it's your thing than by all means read on. I'm not gonna bother, just saying.

I'd like to add that in view of my recent X-Force review, there will not be many X-Titles reviews on this website. No offense to all you mutant lovers out there.

On the contraire my good buddy. I'll handle the Mutant reviews! I'm still in disbelief on your X-Force review. Beautiful art and an actual story, which seems rare in comics today! A lot of titles seem to go the hollywood route, all special effects ( beautiful artwork) and no substance ( weak storylines!)!

I give it 5 Stars!
