Accelerators #1
In the not too distant future in an arena full of warriors from different eras are pitted against each other in a gladiator like event. There are no rules. There is no mercy. There is no escape. Only survival of fittest. Let the games, games, games begin! Meanwhile in the not too distant past a scientist is on the run, time jumping from one timeline to another. As her pursuer is hot on her tail, the more these individuals time jump, the more they distant themselves from their own era… and there’s no going back!
Illustrator Gavin P. Smith does a good job with the drawings, it’s not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but with Tim Yates’ colours, the images just burst on every page & panel. AMC’s Comicbook Men’s own Walter Flanagan does the cover and the variant’s by Niko Walter.
The Team
Written by R.F.I. Porto, illustrated by Gavin P. Smith & coloured by Tim Yates. Published by Bluejuice Comics. The Pros & Cons
This is the very first comic from a new company called Bluejuice Comics, it’s always exciting to see the debut of a new company and the possibilities they’ll offer to the readers. The Accelerators is about a time hopping scientist, who gets a young man involved and end up being chased by a military man. Think the TV show Sliders, but with less jokes and more blood & guts. The time jumping sequences are exciting and we learn how the time device nicknamed the “donut” calculates its time jumps. They way those events tie in to the Time Games are pretty clever and work very well within the flow of the story.Illustrator Gavin P.
