The Pros & Cons
After defrauding his company for billions in an act that makes Enron look like simple shoplifting, Chas begins to scout the plastic landscapes of his newfound country. It’s kind of amazing when you think about it, a surface completely made of plastic junk. What I like about this series so far, is that I’ve really no idea where it’s going, for now I’m just enjoying the ride. Joe Harris’ story & dialogue strike the right balance for this wild comic of big business & corporate espionage. The conversation between Skillings and the government agent at the Worthington Energy Headquarters was a little complicated, but you get the gist of it.
Illustrator Martin Morazzo’s luscious drawings pulls you right in with every panel & page, with impressive waves of plastic bottles frozen in time and the underwater point of view, as Chas takes a few steps as the plastic ground cracks beneath his feet. I love the 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea cover as well.
The Outcome
We’re only at the 2nd issue, but I can tell that is and will continue to be a very special series. I’ve seen some LCS that still carry copies of the 1st issue, so if you act now, you should pick it up pronto. You won’t regret it.

I saw issue #1 at a con going for $8 already, and there is asecond printing already out as well. I found issue #2 to be much stronger in story than the first, which means the book can only go up from here. I'm hooked on this comic for sure.
