Locke & Key Vol. 3 : Crown Of Shadows (HC)

by lucstclair on July 30, 2012

Things go from bad to worst for the Locke family as their mother starts to lose it and questions her sanity when she discovers the Mending Key. And to make matters worst, the house is attacked by invading dark creatures, courtesy of the newly discovered shadow key, not to mention the discovery of the Giant Key. Just another day in Lovercraft, Massachusetts.

The Pros

Another spectacular chapter in the hectic lives of the Locke family, who constantly has a dark cloud over their heads. Writer Joe Hill sheds a light on what lies in the “drowning cave” as the evil & cunning Zack Wells unleashes the power of the Shadow Key. Hill’s realism of a damaged family is spot on.

I love Gabriel Rodriguez’ work, in fact I’m so familiar with his style, that I wouldn’t have any problems pointing out his illustrations in other unrelated comics.

The Cons

Nope.

The Outcome

This series doesn’t seem to be running out of gas and gets better with every new book. Check out my reviews of Locke & Key Vol. 1 & 2. Originally published as Lock & Key : Crown Of Shadows #1-#6 from IDW.
