(Spoilers)
In Justice League United #2 we are given the big picture as to what is going on and what type of villain the newly formed Justice League is up against. Also Supergirl joins the team and the Lobo Hawkman fight continues.

What Really Bothers Me

I really don’t like the art it just does nothing for me, in the other Jeff Lemire books(such as Green Arrow and Animal Man) they all have a strong distinctive art style that is very detailed and fits the tone of the book. In JLU Mike McCone doesn’t make his art a have unique feel or fluidity. He does this especially with the characters they all just look off it’s like he is trying to be realistic and cartoony at the same time. Maybe he is being held back and is being told to how to draw the character a certain way because he draws some beautiful outer space scenes but the characters just seem flat to me. Even when Jeff Lemire is trying to make a funny seen the characters just seem expressionless. The story in this issue spends way too much time explaining why these alien scientists tried making a hybrid alien to bring peace to their galaxy. I could have been summed up in a couple of words but it went on for a couple of pages. Also Supergirl just seems to show up for no reason, and isn’t she supposed to be a Red Lantern?

What I loved

This book is fun, light hearted, also it makes you enjoy all the characters and you learn that they are a great group of people who are learning to be a team. They don’t have a lot of experience but they are great heroes even if they aren’t very skilled. I loved the way Martian Manhunter is in this book it makes him out to be a straight badass. Also even though I don’t like the art in general there are some great scenes such as s the one above.

Overall

Justice League United #2 is has been a fun ride, but this issue is a low point. I would love to see this series go on for years, I just wish there was a different artist and this story arc was over.
