What we get in this issue is more of what I've been wanting from this arc. Different locales, a solid mystery, and good character banter. My hopes have been squashed before so I don't want to get too excited.

Rafa Sandoval is a damn treasure. He, along with his inker Jordi Tarragona and colourist Tomeu Morey, produce such great comics and this is no exception. There's such energy in this artwork, and the colouring in particular is magnificent. The writing feels more lively, almost in response to Sandoval's vibrant and emotive character work. This is a gorgeous book, and Sandoval joining the team is a huge win.

Finally, after months of questioning and wondering, it seems that Joshua Williamson is finally going to give us some answers as to the nature of these various forces. We get a little bit of information, enough to get me going, and I look forward to seeing this whole thing wrap up. Williamson is introducing too many new characters in this story, I think. We met two new characters last issue and they show up here with an additional villain on the last page.

This was a lot of fun. The artwork is stellar and the story is finally moving in the direction I've been wanting for months now.
