Super Sons Annual #1

This was a superbly fun issue. You'd think that Jon and Damian would play a bigger role in their own book, but this is not the case. In a breathe of fresh air, the pets are front and centre here and it is beautifully ridiculous. Still, not much happens, and I think this would have been better suited to a traditional 22 or so page count.
Despite the adorable fun factor, there simply isn't much to talk about in this issue.
In addition to being a whole lot of fun, this issue was a quick read due to pretty long sections without dialogue, since the only characters present are the pets and, well, they don't speak. Artist Paul Pelletier really brought the humour out of this situation; seeing these pets interact with each other was honestly kind of hilarious. I will say though, there was a certain section when a lot of the pets were finally gathered where I didn't really know what the art was trying to convey. A couple of flashback panels contributed to the confusion, which I attribute to me not reading the last story these characters may have appeared in.
In a simple and quick Annual, Peter Tomasi and Paul Pelletier tell a cute Super-Pets story with a fun cameo here and there. While fun, there isn't much to talk about, despite the great execution of this story.
