I loved this issue, which is another great instalment of the overall METAL event. This story is riding on the strength of the great story that Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo have created, and there is a narrative flow and reason for the story to exist that couldn't really be found in the previous four-part tie-in arc, GOTHAM RESISTANCE.

Joshua Williamson has a great grasp on this whole event due to his involvement with Snyder behind the scenes. He had a hand in writing GOTHAM RESISTANCE, and this issue feels like a genuine continuation of the previous issue of METAL, which is probably the best complement I can give this issue. In addition to the excellent Howard Porter art.

I love Porter's work but I recognise it may not be for everyone; I think a more general or casual reader of Porter's art may find it hard to approach but I for one love the velocity and motion he gives the Flash. He possibly does this the best out of most artists working today. He also does a great job with many of the other characters in the book; his take on the Dark Knights looked very consistent with how they have been depicted in the past.

I'm really excited for this crossover, and I have high hopes that it'll be one of the best things to come out of this event. It seems to be telling a more traditional good vs. evil story which I think this event needs right now. Williamson impressed me on the writing front and Porter hit it out of the park.
