Wonder Woman #24
Writer: Greg Rucka
Artist: Bilquis Evely
Colourist: Romulo Fajardo, Jr
Publisher: DC Comics
According to Greg Rucka, this is the first time two issues in the series take place after each other. The last issue dealt with the truth about Themyscira. Now Diana wants to tie up a few loose ends, namely Cheetah and Veronica Cale.
People have been upset that Rucka has decided to leave the title, but this issue should quell any worries people should have. I don't want to spoil anything, but Rucka doesn't entirely rid the possibility of others writers making use of Cale, Doctor Cyber, or even Cheetah. My main concern is what next issue will be about, since I don't think there's that much story left.
If this issue is any indication, we'll be seeing more of Steve Trevor and Etta Candy. I've been pining for more of them since we haven't really seen these characters much in this run so far.
This might have been Bilquis Evely's best issue yet. There was some solid action on display which was supported by the great character scenes which Evely always nails. Both Evely and Liam Sharp will be contributing to the next issue, which concludes Rucka's run with an over-sized #25 anniversary issue.
This issue was quite sublime. Rucka does a great job at tying up some loose ends and setting up character motivations and story beats for other writers, or himself eventually, to take on in due time.
