Saga #24

“Everybody's looking for somebody.” - Bruce Springsteen
This quote has aptly described the most basic plot of Saga. For 24 issues now, everybody has been looking for Somebody. The Will looking for Alana and Marko. Prince Robot looking for Alana and Marko. Alana and Marko looking for Oswald Heist. Marko's parents looking for him. And so on and so forth. For such a startling simple premise this comic has never slowed down, let up, or become boring. And by the end of this issue, the teams have been mixed up, which will be great for character dynamics, but still the fact remains the same. The hunt is still on.
I'll be forthwith, I LOVED this issue. Everything about it has been perfect for me as a fan of Saga. There are very few comics that issue after issue I remain completely in love with. My faith in Saga has yet to falter. And smartly, using this issue to set up new scenarios and problems instead of dwelling on previous ones, leaves me with a sense of longing for the next issue over this three month gap. As usual, it's hard to talk about Saga without spoiling anything, but I will say that any fan of Saga will love this issue.
Brian K. Vaughn and Fiona Staple are in complete and utter control of their story. They are masters of their craft. At the end of this chapter, there is no doubt of this.
