Flash #15
Writer: Joshua Williamson
Artist: Carmine Di Giandomenico
Colourist: Ivan Plascencia
NOW THIS IS WHAT I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR. I’ve really been enjoying Williamson’s Flash and his work on Justice League vs Suicide Squad, especially Flash. I have actually praised every issue of the Flash so far and in my opinion I don’t think I have found one bad issue. However this issue really just completely elevates Williamson’s work.
The real attraction of the Rogues is partially to do with their code of not killing, but it also has to do with the fact that they are the only real criminal thieves left. The idea of thieves in comics is barely used, unless to further a plot. However the rogues are re-curring thieves, they aren’t big supernatural elements, they are just human beings for the most part.
Williamson with this arc, has literally assessed what made the rogues such good characters and things people didn’t like and has then used this arc to remedy the bad. Some people didn’t like how much the rogues worked with the Flash in the New 52, well Williamson tries to remedy this and does this successfully.
It’s is always great to see Carmine Di Giandomenico’s art as he adds such vibrance and energy to situations. The actual plan of the Rogues was pretty smart, however I would definetly say I saw it from a mile away, however how Barry figured it out was cool.
In conclusion this is probably the best issue yet of the Flash, and really confirms that Williamson’s run will be remembered. I do wonder how he will deal with the rogues next issue and whether we will see an appearance from Kid Flash.
