Green Arrow #14
Writer: Ben Percy
Artist: Elinora Carlini, Carlos Rodriguez and Gus Vazquez
Colorist: Hi-Fi
Although I do really think this is one of the most underrated titles of DC rebirth, I have to say that I do not like the whole on the run Green Arrow thing, and it seems that DC loves removing the wealth from Oliver Queen. I feel it’s something I have definitely seen before.
Although saying that it is slightly different as Olly does have the help of his allies, in the form of Henry, Dinah and Diggle. So it is interesting to see how he uses them, like Dinah going undercover in the police headquarters.
Percy puts Olly in an awkward position as it appears that he did kill the American Football star, however my problem with this was the fact that once Olly pointed out the mysterious archer at the top of the stadium, then he shouldn’t have still been blamed. Further on it took him having to chase the suspect and then getting almost shot to identify him as wrongly accused.
However it was cool to actually see that it was Malcom Merlyn, not his son especially since most readers also watch Arrow, so it is definitely more relevant. In conclusion, this arc has been okay, however I am really hoping we can progress beyond a struggling Oliver Queen.
