Electronic proprietary debate heating up

Comixology asked for a posting on popular website Reddit to be pulled yesterday. The posting was a program which would essential let you keep comics you paid for from Comixology. Currently when you pay for a comic with their service you don't actually own the product. You can access it anytime you like from their server but you don't have a file on your device like when you purchase on mp3. In essence you are just paying for the right to read the comic online but you don't own it. If something were to happen to Comixology such as bankruptcy then you'd lose access to all the files you purchased.

Doesn't seem fair, imagine if you had a huge collection and then you lose them all. I'd be pissed.
